Peppered Snails

Another irresistible delicacy! Perfectly fried snails always do well with spice and heat 🌶⁣

  • Sauce Pan
  • Wooden Spatula
  • Ladle
  • Blender
  • Frying Pan
  • Small bowl


  • 7 medium snails halved
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 500 ml water
  • 1 small onion
  • For the sauce
  • 1 ½ cups scotch bonnet pepper
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 large white onion chopped
  • 1 medium red bell pepper chopped


  • Pour the snails into a sauce pan over medium heat, add garlic, ginger, salt, water, onion, cover and let cook for 20 minutes then take out the onion and let cook for another 15 minutes
  • Pour the scotch bonnet pepper into a blender, add the boiled onion, fresh onion, garlic, water and blend into a smooth mixture
  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat, add the cooked snails and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes then add the blended scotch bonnet pepper, stir and let simmer for 5 minutes
  • Add salt, chopped onion, red bell pepper and stir in. Allow to simmer for a minute and take off the heat



Kid-Friendly Adaptation : Do not add too much pepper when frying.
