90’s Jollof with Toolo Beef

  • Saucepan

  • 100 ml Vegetable Oil
  • 1 kg Toolo Beef
  • 1 Onion (sliced)
  • 4 tbsp Garlic Puree
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Paste
  • 6 large Tomatoes Diced
  • 15 Mixed peppers (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Rosemary
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 700 ml Beef Broth
  • 1 kg Rice


  • In a saucepan, put in your already made cured beef (toolo beef), pour water on it, and let it boil for 15 minutes, transfer the beef into a bowl and set aside. (Change the water twice to reduce more salt).
  • In another saucepan, pour oil and sear the beef for 10 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Add onion slices and fry till translucent, follow up with garlic paste, ginger paste, diced tomatoes, and scotch bonnet, allow it to simmer stirring occasionally for 15 minutes or until the tomatoes soften.
  • Add beef broth then cover and allow it to boil for 5 minutes.
  • Add in your washed rice, stir, and allow that to also cook for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes stir to make sure It’s evenly cooked.
  • Enjoy this delightful 90s-style Jollof.
