
Saucy Meat Pie
Saucy meat pie with minced beef fillings and can be served with a glass of fruit juice

Ingredients
For the Beef Sauce;
- 1 Pound Minced Beef
- 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 1 Medium Onion Diced
- 3 Cloves of Garlic Minced
- 1 Tsp Dried Oregano
- 1 Tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 400 g Chopped Tomatoes
- 1 Tbsp Scotch Bonnet Pepper Chopped
- 1 Medium Carrot Diced
- 1 Medium Green Bell Pepper Diced
- 1 Tsp Salt
For the Dough;
- 2 Cups All-purpose Flour
- 1 Tsp Nutmeg
- 1 Tsp Black Pepper
- 1 Tsp White Pepper
- 1 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 100 g Butter Unsalted
- 1 Cup Margarine
- 1 Egg
- ¼ Cup Milk
- 1 1 Egg (For Egg Wash)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add diced onion, garlic and stir until translucent.
- Add minced beef, oregano and black pepper, then add salt, stir and let it cook for 4 minutes.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, scotch bonnet pepper, carrot and diced green bell pepper.
- Adjust salt, stir and let simmer for 3 minutes.
- Take off heat and set aside.
- Mix the flour with nutmeg, black pepper, white pepper, baking powder and salt.
- Add the margarine, butter and rub in to get a crumble-like texture.
- Add egg, then milk and mix into a dough.
- Flour a flat surface, roll the dough and cut out into your desired shape.
- Fill each cut with the minced beef sauce and seal with the tip of a spoon.
- Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and brush the top with egg wash and poke with a fork.
- Place in a pre-heated oven and bake at 160 degrees celsius for 25 - 30 minutes.
- Saucy meat pie ready to serve.
