Telande is a Kusasi word which means 'eat with me'. TELANDE WORLD is a digital food network with the passion in rebranding and promoting the presentation of our local foods and ingredients to reach international standards.

Our goal is to fundamentally change the way the world appreciates and engages with African food. In addition to this we took on a challenge to introduce creative and exceptional ways food in general could be exploited and unconventionally manipulated.

While doing an in-depth research into African ingredients and coming up with innovative recipes, recipes that are easy, exciting and more relatable to africans and the world as a whole.


The influence of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Snapchat etc, in Africa has whet the appetite of foodies and many others to develop an interest in local foods and its ingredients. With the aid of this boom, I set out on a journey to rebrand the presentation of African foods and ingredients.

I'm Kinorah Awini, a Ghanaian-based African food connoisseur, the founder, and CEO of a culinary company called Telande Limited. "Telande" means "eat with me" in the Ghanaian Kusasi dialect from the Northern part of the country.

My passion for food has made an expert in the art of food blogging, food photography, and food styling. I find myself in a joyous state when engaged in the beautiful process of cooking from its raw state to its plating.

I believe Africans have a lot to offer in terms of food recipes, thanks to the abundance of indigenous ingredients at our disposal. It has hence been my mission to use these ingredients to create exciting new recipes while adding stupendous touches to existing ones. Recipes from Telande are made with brevity in mind and are highly experimental for easy practice at home by patrons.

Coming from multiple Ghanaian tribes and cultural backgrounds, I was my mother's right-hand person in the kitchen and the food critic in my family, this usually ended me in a lot of disagreements with my siblings but that’s a story for another time. My father, who is a cook, was a catalyst in enhancing my cooking prowess when he discovered my passion for the art at a younger age, I have never looked back since.

Nothing brings me immense joy than traveling to other African countries to sample their ingredients and foods, which doubles as a huge inspiration for my craft. The mere fact that ingredients can be molded in various ways to create different recipes tops it all for me. I believe there's a huge potential for African cuisines and ingredients that will appeal to food audiences all over the world should it be promoted effectively and presented in the right light across borders to those who know nothing about it.
